Every morning when I rise, it seems darker. I have to look out and see if it is going to rain. I am sure we are moving every day to end the benefit of daylight saving, and Fall back, not Spring forward. My favorite story about day light savings was the lady who wrote the newspaper and complained that the extra hour of sunlight was killing her grass. It must be true. My grass is dying too. They say Benjamin Franklin thought up daylight savings while he was ambassador to France. Apparently Paris nightlife only started about midnight and went on into the early morning. Old Ben, the discoverer of lightning, as a great wit, proclaimed that Parisians should shift their clock by 6 hours, starting their merriment at 6 p.m. now DS midnight thus over by 6 a.m. real midnight. He even made a calculation of how many candles would be saved. The idea was never applied for real until WWII for saving on electricity.
Can you stand some really good news? Gasoline dropped by 6.62 cents at the average rack in Selma. Diesel fuel dropped by 5.74 cents/gallon. I only get to use the ‘dropped’ when the change downward is over 5 cents. Prices are:
