Today’s Gas & Diesel Price Updates

Crude is down by 41 cents to $29.01/barrel. It is only going to go down more. It is ironic that Russia’s siding with Iran nuclear hopes. As the crude export embargo is lifted, Iran will now pump 4.4 million barrels onto the flooded crude market, placing Russia in a much worse position economically. Russian crude can only plummet even further in the world market. Putin is a genius. He started with the problem with a man with Pooh in his name who is not Winnie. There is a chance that we will live to see 99 cents gasoline and diesel fuel once again. Wouldn’t that be something.

I have to apologize to our commercial customers who are still receiving delivery tickets without taxes added. It has caused problems when customers pay immediately only to receive the corrected invoice once the invoice is posted into our system. It is embarrassing for me to admit that I have not been able to correct this bug in our system.

Prices of gasoline and diesel are hardly changed due to the holiday. Gasoline slipped by .01 cents/gallon at the average rack in Selma. Diesel fuel eased by 0.29 cents/gallon. Prices are:

Today’s Gas & Diesel Price Updates

Every night driving home and I see all the big green green directional signs on the Beltline, but the light bulbs are out and not maintained, I think, how cheesy! Then I notice the tall lights on the Fortify Project are sodium lamps, not LED. Who is running the DOT. LED lights are warrantied for 10 years. Replace all the lights on the green signs with LED and the reduced cost of electricity and maintenance is a no brainer.

I have been watching Criminal Minds too long. I always look in my backseat when I get into my car. I have seen too many pictures of some rising up in the backseat as the driver gets in and the put a garret around their neck. Remember the God Father?

The DOW was down over 500 points at one point today and ended up down 358 points. This is the worst start in January for in history for the stock market. What do I care, my stocks were wiped out in the Great Recession. The multinationals made a killing during the last five years and especially the oil companies. Now it is our turn, the small and medium size local companies. We get the cheaper fuel costs along with the consumers who will benefit. They had their time, the ones who moved all the jobs to Mexico then China and stashed all their lot off shore in Ireland and other places. We, here, finally have a turn at some luck and success. They had no sympathy for us and I have less for them especially the major oil companies.

Apparently, Warren Buffet is taking the dip in oil company stock to buy up Phillips 66. Berkshire Hathaway investing that Geico money. I despise that lizard. If he ever walks out in front my car, you will see two sets of skid marks, the one to run over him and stop, back up and the won to run over him again. Bye, Bye lizard. Now don’t get me started about that duck, AFLAC. Again, skid and more skid, with a couple of thumps followed by a big smile on my face.

I sent prices out last night and half of the e-mails were returned. Still have computer headaches.

Crude closed below $30 and WTI is $29.42. Brent is even lower, $28.94/barrel. Gasoline is down by 1.52 cents/gallon at the average rack in Selma. Diesel fuel is down by 3.59 cents/gallon. Prices are:

Random thoughts.

NC DOT does not replace the lights in the big green directional signs. In the Fortify Project, they are adding tall street lights but they are sodium bulbs, NOT LED WITH TEN YEAR WARRANTY.

I know that January is a dirty, rainy month, but after all the rain of this Fall, I am really sick of these gray, drippy skies.

If the Panthers win their next three games, they will be Super Bowl Champions and that will be only the second National Pro Championship that NC has ever won, the Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Winners.

Gasoline inched down by 0.06 cents/gallon at the average rack price in Selma. Diesel fuel is down by 0.418 cents/gallon.  Diesel fuel is now cheaper than gasoline once again. Prices are:

More rain. Who will stop the rain? The South is getting rain by the buckets full. The Missouri, Arkansa, Red, Ohio and Mississippi are in flood stage. This is because of the warm air. Normally much of that rain falls as snow and is released slowly over time in the Spring. I am not looking at a map but knowing the Appalachians in the East and the Rockies in the West, all of that water is heading for New Orleans and will crest the third week in January, threatening all the levees along the way. On a more positive note, California reservoirs should be replenished this year by the increased snowfall in the Sierras, after years of shortfall.

Gasoline is down by 1.53 cents/gallon at the average rack in Selma. Diesel fuel is down by 2.07 cents/gallon. Crude is down again, down by 46 cents to $36.73/barrel. Prices are:
