Build Your Own Exxon Convenience Storeexxon.gif

For those who have their own capital, Hopkins Oil will help you build your own convenience store. We work like a consultant to bring together the help you need to make it happen.

We can help with:

Site Selection
We will work through local realtors to help you find the right location.
Survey
A New Image Marketing survey costs $2500 including volume estimates, demographics, and recommendation for food service types. Once your Exxon opens, Hopkins Oil will reimburse you the amount of the survey.
Builders
There are several reputable, reasonable builders who specialize in building convenience stores. Most of the meetings are held right in my conference room.
Equipment
I know which petroleum equipment vendors to recommend and will make sure that you get the most competitive pricing with the equipment that you need including underground tanks, piping, tank monitors, pumps, and dispensers. I can also recommend a number of vendors for your counters, shelving, coolers, fountain vending machines, etc.
Training
Texaco offers training in Houston, Texas and it lasts three weeks. Unfortunately, most people either have run convenience stores before so they do not go to training or are working in another job and cannot afford the time. Sending a subordinate does not help.

The principal must go in person. Hopkins Oil will pay part of the cost of this training, once the store opens.

Grand Opening
Hopkins Oil Company will contribute 50% of your Grand Opening costs up to $5,000 per each 100,000 gallons/month that the Starfires survey predicts.  program.
Exxon Rebates
Texaco will rebate 2 cents per gallon sold each month for a total of 48 months. (This program changes from time to time but has been standard for a number of years now).

One can also qualify for an additional 1 cent per gallon if there are 4 profit centers in your project or it is located directly on an Interstate. An extra 1 cent per gallon is available for Interstate sites and large stores with 4 profits centers, examples: Car wash, QSR, Gas, C-store.

QSR: Quick Serve Restaurants
Exxon  has co-op agreements with many nationally branded franchises. These are additional profit centers that will help convenience stores to survive and prosper in the competitive market of the future. This is increasingly important for locations on the Interstate.
Signs
Hopkins Oil Company will provide any Exxon trademark signs that zoning will allow. You install them.
